Plastic Die Casting Process, You Know?

In the die casting process, the thermosetting resin material is added to a separate chamber, often called the trough, and then forced into one or more closed molds for polymerization (curing).

The material is also called the channel and the flow path, allowing the material to flow from the tank to the mold cavity, before entering the mold cavity through the restrictor or gate. Many mold cavities have a single trough. The air in the chamber is replaced by the incoming material and is discharged through a specially placed exhaust port.

When the material is placed in the trough, the amount is measured in a compact measuring device and then preheated to near the polymerization temperature. Add only enough injection at a time.

The preheated feedstock is fed to the trough and then fed to a feeder, which is mounted on the chute to prevent leakage from the gap between the piston and the chute. The gland is usually inserted into the injector for further leak prevention.

The surface of the trough, the notch, the gates, the runner and the mold cavity maintains a temperature at which the raw material is rapidly solidified, and the temperature is 280 to 380 ° F depending on the material properties, the design of the mold and the geometry of the part.

When the die casting material reaches the end of the curing period, the complete die cast material is demolded, including the removal of the gate, the runner, the whip and the trough to form a curing mat (called a residue).

In the die casting, the material preheating is very important. Cold material flow slowly, the first into the mold cavity of the material has not yet reached its end, that may be polymerization. If the above situation, product quality is poor, not only the appearance, but also reflected in the mechanical properties. Some exceptions, such as a small amount of injection, or some low viscosity material. Heating can be used to heat the lamp or furnace, but the effective and commonly used method is made of plastic heaters for plastic molding.
