Venting: Pay attention to venting to allow the escape of air and gases during injection. Adequate venting helps prevent issues like air traps or burns, particularly when molding around the inserts.
Material Flow: Consider the flow of molten material during injection to ensure proper filling and distribution around the inserts. Optimize gate placement, runner design, and material flow analysis to minimize defects and ensure uniform filling.
Maintenance and Repair: Anticipate maintenance and repair requirements for the mold, including the inserts. Design the mold and inserts with accessibility in mind to facilitate maintenance, cleaning, and potential replacement of inserts when necessary.
