Blow molding is a permanent mold process for making hollow plastic parts.The process can be divided into two main types: extrusion blow molding and injection blow molding.Extrusion blow molding process cost is low, but injection molding can better control part parameters, such as wall thickness and weight.
The process consists of several standard steps:
Install the billet (preheated hollow tube made of plastic) into the machine's blowing head and place it in the mold.The mold is made of two parts and is sealed from the top and bottom.
Blow the hot air over the blow molding head into the shape of the mold.
Before the ejection, the hot part stays in the mold for a few seconds to cool.
Any additional material at both ends of the part will be removed to obtain final product parts.
