What principles should be followed in injection mould design?

In the design of injection mould, it is generally necessary to understand the properties of the plastic used, the purpose of forming plastic parts, and the process analysis. In addition, the following principles should be followed:

1) select a reasonable mold structure according to the structure, shape, size and precision of the plastic parts and the size of the batch.

2) the side hole and side concave structure of the plastic parts shall be molded by the molds as much as possible. In the design of the tool, it is necessary to consider the side parting core and so on to simplify the manufacturing process of the plastic parts.

3) when choosing the parting surface, ensure that the molded parts are left on the side of the moving die.

4) choose the casting system that can guarantee the quality of the plastic parts. After the parts are formed, the runner and gate should be easily removed. In order to improve the degree of automation, it is possible to adopt the latent gate and the point gate.

5) reasonably choose the structure, surface roughness, heat treatment hardness and dimensional precision of injection molding parts, and ensure the appearance quality of plastic parts.

6) select the cooling channel that can quickly cool the mold and core, and make the temperature of the cavity surface uniform.

7) the launch mechanism is reliable and does not damage the plastic parts.

8) the mould designed shall have sufficient strength and rigidity, easy to realize automatic production, and operate continuously for a long time.

9) the mould should be easy to manufacture, short of production cycle and low cost.

10) design exhaust system, heating system and cooling system.

11) the mold should consider the maximum injection quantity, locking force and core part size of the injection machine.
