                  What are the key points of the parting surface?

Select the parting surface to consider the following points:

1) when the die is opened, the casting shall be able to remove the mold and move with the moving mode.

2) the casting accuracy should be ensured (see figure 1b).

3) the parting surface is as far as possible at the end of metal liquid flow to ensure good overflow and exhaust conditions (see figure 2b).

4) it should be good for casting removal, and it is generally selected at the maximum section of the casting contour.

5) make use of flat parting surface to simplify mold manufacturing.

6) choose the surface as the parting surface for casting.

7) avoid or reduce the use of horizontal core pulling mechanism.

8) according to the casting materials, different parting faces are selected. As shown in fig.3, long tubular castings are shown in fig.3. The sectional surface is suitable for zinc alloy die-casting, and the split-parting surface is suitable for copper alloy or aluminum alloy.

9) according to the appearance requirements of the casting, the plane without parting surface marks and putter marks shall not be allowed to be classified.It should also consider the effect of demodulation slope on the appearance and use, the direction of the burr and the effect on the appearance after the removal of the hair.
