Injection mold cooling water leakage is a frequent occurrence, for many reasons, mainly in the following aspects.
1. The most occurrence is in the connection of the mold cooling pipe. If the leakage is found, the sealing tape should be wound on the thread of the pipe joint and then tightened.
2. Under the condition of long-term molding, the waterproof ring in the mold can be damaged, resulting in leakage.Some of the waterproof ring installation will also cause seal failure.Generally check the installation position and sealing performance of the sealing ring.
3. The hole wall of the cooling water hole is damaged.This is often the case when trying out new molds. The wall thickness of the design is sufficient, but the hole wall is perforated due to machining error or post-processing.In most cases, a leaky hole can no longer be used.
4. Maintenance of cooling water holes.It is easy to scale up in the cooling water hole to prevent heat transfer.For straight water holes, insert a steel rod with a diameter of 0.5mm in diameter of the cooling water hole, and use a hammer to remove scale and rust.For the cooling water pipe embedded in the mold, the mould should be decomposed to remove rust.After maintenance, the water leakage test shall be conducted. The manual pressure pump shall be used to fill the hole with water, and for 5min under the pressure of 2MPa, the water pressure will be lowered to determine whether the water hole is leaking.Rubber, cork and other elastic materials can be used for mechanical fastening and can be used as plugging materials.
5. Regularly check the application of heating tube and pressure reducing pump.The heating tube is an effective heat transfer device, which is very effective for the cooling of the deep structure.In the area where the cooling water is easy to pass, the installation of a one-way heating tube can reduce the leakage.In addition, it is also the method to prevent the cooling water leakage by using the vacuum pump to absorb the cooling water.
