Working Instruction
1. Offering:
Our Quoting Engineer will review your drawing and submit you our price within 24 hours. If necessary, we will give you a rough report regarding the part concession in order to save mold cost or make sure they are moldable.
2. Project kick off:
a. The project will be assigned to a team including the sales communicator (Daisy), mold designer, project manager, mold supervisor, QC, toolmakers, etc.
b. Mold and Product requirement Input and then distribute to different departments for file (Daisy’s job). See attachment
c: Progress schedule submitted to ARB after receiving the PO. But we have to update the progress schedule after mold drawing approved, and then we will follow this schedule to build the mold. See attachment.
d. Weekly Report to keep you close with the mold status. See attachment.
3. Mold Designing:
a. Our mold designer and other people will evaluate your part design or samples to give you some proactive comments, such us Draft, Cooling, Venting, Gating, Cavity/Core sticking, Short Shot, Thin steel conditions, etc. also our engineers will assist you in improving the part design if required. It needs 3 days.
b. After receiving your Response on our DFM Report, we will send you the completed 3D mold design within 3 days.
c. Updating mold drawing per ARB’s feedback till mold drawing approved.
d: Final project schedule( timeline) to ARB that will be strictly followed during mold building.
4. Mold Base / components / material purchasing
a. Our Procurement people will order the Mold base / components / material per the BOM, and keep the certification from the supplier.
b. Incoming inspection: our mold supervisor will check the Mold base / components / material to make sure they are in line with ARB’s requirement.
5. Mold building
a. CNC programming
b. Cavity/Core rough machining
c. Heat Treatment (if necessary), and we will keep the heat treatment certificate.
d. Cavity/Core precise machining
e. Wire cut
f. EDM Burning
g. Mold base machining, Mold base will reach our shop 2-3 weeks after we release the PO to LKM
h. Polish
i. mold fitting
j. mold assembly
k. mold test
① We will submit you the Molding parameter report the day we test the mold, and report you the mold test result trustily. See attachment
② The Full dimension report will reach you 3 days after the T1, but we will give you the critical dimension report before that. (3 shots for single cavity, and full cavities for multi cavities). See attachment
6. Samples sent to ARB
We will send you the rough report on the T1 samples and see the next step to modify the mold or send the samples.
7. Mold adjustment
① ABIS’s fault not following the drawing: We will modify the mold per your feedback on the samples (if they exist) and submit you the good samples at our best time.
② ARB’s new request on part changes: Mold ECN requirement input, and pass to different departments for record. See attachment.
8. Samples approved
Part dimensions, part appearance.
9. Mold validation
We have to control the part dimensions as well as the mold function. We will do the final mold checking and have the mold ran on our press machine continually for 3 hours without any problems. Sometimes will come here to attend the mold test to approve the mold.
10. Mold package
Rust-proof grease painted on mold surface to form the protective coating and then plastic bag wrapped. Free-fumigation plywood case as the outer package for the mold, the electrode, some spare parts, the document envelope (the steel certificate, the heat treatment certificate, the mold drawing and CD)
11. Mold delivery
We will send you the Packing List and Commercial Invoice (declared value same with PO amount) before mold delivery, and arrange the mold out following your requirement. Also we will make the Customs clearance documents for the mold that exceed ¥5,000.

A: The exact lead time depends on your parts specification. The normal lead time is 40-45days for tooling fabrication and sample. If the tooling is not required, the lead time for samples is 15days normally.
