1. What is a watering bucket called?

2. Is hand watering better than sprinklers?
Sprinklers water the garden pathways just the same as the beds. With hand watering, the pathways remain dry. This suppresses pathway weeds – they will be less vigorous and provide less cover for slugs and insect pests. Although hand watering helps conserve water, it is not the most efficient method

4. What can I use instead of a watering can?
Detergent jugs and milk jugs are great choices. Large water jugs and juice jugs may also work, as long as they have a handle. Most importantly, make sure that the lid screws on. A cap that you pop on and off will not work for this due to the water pressure.

Drip irrigation is the most water-efficient way to irrigate many different plantings. It is an ideal way to water in clay soils because the water is applied slowly, allowing the soil to absorb the water and avoid runoff. Drip devices use a fraction of the water that overhead spray devices use.
