This mold was originally developed as an OEM mold for a North American connector manufacturer who required PA66 overmolding with tight dimensional control for high-performance connector housings. The 1×4 cavity layout and H13 core steel were selected to balance production throughput against the heat resistance needed for glass-filled nylon. Mold Base Standards & Sourcing

A mold base supplier provides pre-machined steel plate assemblies (including A-plate, B-plate, ejector housing, and guide components) that form the structural foundation of an injection mold. The two most widely used international standards are DME (dominant in North America) and HASCO (preferred across Europe), and the choice between them depends on the end customer's press configuration and regional spare-part availability.

All mold bases used in this project series come from LKM, DME, or HASCO stock, depending on the end customer's regional preference and press specification. For buyers sourcing from mold base suppliers in Europe, HASCO-standard bases simplify spare-part logistics and reduce the risk of compatibility issues with local molding shops. DME configurations remain the default for projects shipping to North America. When a client's press layout or ejection system calls for a non-standard plate thickness or a specific guide-pin arrangement, ABIS machines the mold base in-house from pre-hardened P20 or 1.2738 billets. The choice between a standard catalog base and a custom-machined one is made during the DFM stage, with a cost-benefit comparison included in the quotation package. Industry-Specific Tooling: Automotive, Communication & Container Components

 

Beyond general-purpose injection molds, this tooling platform supports several industry verticals that demand additional process controls. For ODM injection molding automotive parts, ABIS runs Moldflow simulation with fiber-orientation analysis when working with PA66-GF or PBT-GF compounds, since weld-line placement in structural brackets directly affects mechanical load ratings. Our automotive tooling typically uses NAK80 or S136 cavity inserts to maintain surface finish consistency through 500K+ shot cycles.

 

OEM communication parts mold projects follow a different set of priorities. Connector housings, shielding cans, and antenna brackets produced via terminal overmolding molds often involve multi-cavity layouts with tight pitch tolerances (±0.02 mm or less). These molds usually run on smaller presses (80T–200T range) with fast cycles under 25 seconds, so cooling-channel design and gate balance become the dominant engineering concerns. ABIS assigns a dedicated project engineer to each communication mold to coordinate between the client's RF team and our tooling designers.

 

For clients that manufacture storage and logistics products, we also produce ODM container accessories molds, including lid-latch mechanisms, stacking lugs, and hinge assemblies. These parts are typically molded in PP or HDPE at high volumes, and the molds require robust ejection systems and heavy-duty guide components to handle the larger projected area. Several of our container accessory mold projects have been developed as turnkey ODM programs where ABIS handles everything from part geometry refinement to final packaging of molded components.

 

Post-Mold Processing & Assembly Capabilities

 

The value-added services listed above are not afterthoughts. Ultrasonic welding, for example, is a core assembly step for many of the parts produced from these molds. ABIS operates as an ultrasonic welding mold OEM supplier in China, designing and producing the welding fixtures (horns, nests, and jigs) alongside the injection molds so that joint-line geometry, energy director placement, and material compatibility are validated as a single system. This integrated approach eliminates the back-and-forth that occurs when the mold maker and the welding fixture supplier are separate vendors.

 

For projects that require metal-plastic hybrid assemblies, we also develop ODM custom metal-plastic enclosures combining aluminum die casting with precision injection-molded inserts and seals. The metal components are sourced from our in-house die casting and stamping lines, and the plastic-to-metal fit is verified on our CMM before shipment. This capability is particularly relevant for industrial control housings, outdoor junction boxes, and power distribution enclosures where EMI shielding or IP-rated sealing is required.

OEM & ODM Cooperation Models

 

ABIS supports two cooperation tracks depending on how much design ownership the client retains. Under the OEM model, the client provides complete 3D data and material specifications; ABIS handles mold engineering, steel selection, and production validation. Under the ODM model, ABIS takes on part design or redesign responsibilities - for instance, an ODM plastic mold manufacturer engagement might start with only a functional sketch and target cost, and ABIS delivers a production-ready 3D model along with the finished tooling.

 

European buyers who need to consolidate multiple SKUs into a single order can also take advantage of our wholesale mould program. Rather than quoting each tool individually, ABIS offers volume-based pricing for multi-cavity or family-mold sets, which is common among European OEM mould wholesale buyers managing seasonal product lines.    A:Some customers in addition to plastic injection require post processing, assembly of their products and packaging. 

    Q:Is it possible to know how are my products going on without visiting your company?

Q: Do you supply mold bases only, without the full mold?

A: Yes. For clients who have their own mold-making capabilities but need precision-machined bases, we supply finished mold base assemblies (A-plate, B-plate, support plate, ejector assembly) machined to DME or HASCO specifications. This service is available as a standalone order or bundled with cavity/core insert machining.

Q: Can you handle ultrasonic welding fixture design together with the injection mold?

A: We develop ultrasonic welding tooling (horn, fixture, and nest) in parallel with the injection mold.
